Sofia Coppola may be known for her talent in directing, but Coppola’s even more reason to celebrate. She and her boyfriend Thomas Mars are expecting their second child. Mars, the Phoenix gang leader confirmed the news to the media.
Although Mars showed his playful side when he spoke of her fetus’s exposure to classical music while in utero, Mars said, “I heard the story that if you play Bach, [the babies in the womb] smarter. So does that mean Mars would get his band together to play some of that classical music for his baby on the way? Mars, joked, “We have to study it. Not sure it’s a good idea.”
Coppola, 38, and Mars have been together for four years, and have a 3-year-old daughter, Romy. Coppola was married to director Spike Jonze.
Coppola met Mars, while production of the soundtrack to the Virgin Suicides. They have since collaborated on “Lost in Translation, Marie Antoinette, and apparently somewhere next.
Now Sofia Coppola lives in Paris, France. Sophie describes her love for the city and his favorite places there.
