The Frontier Touring Company welcomes touring artists of the past and present their awards and nominations and 52 Grammy Awards 2010, presented yesterday in Los Angeles.
Frontier Touring constantly strive to offer the best of local music and international entertainment in Australia and New Zealand. Recognition by the Grammy’s of these artists early in their field reflects the level of our impeccable musicians, artists and stage performers.
Dearest Leonard Cohen was the recipient of a Lifetime Achievement Award, while the talents of Neil Young, who was on tour with us, for a total of three times, won the MusiCares Person of the Year. Both artists have received awards at during their visits here and could not be more worthy of these awards.
Australia and New Zealand public will remember Kings of Leon, who visited in March 2009 after attending to his aid to help raise funds for the appeal of the forest fires in Australia and the first Red Cross fund-raising for disaster relief in Queensland. Chart Topping ‘Use Somebody’ won the Grammy for Album of the Year Best Rock Song and Best Rock Performance by a Duo vocal group / song and received additional nominations in the categories Song of the Year.
Rockers Green Day album 21st Century Punk Breakdown won a Grammy for Best Rock Album and was nominated for Best Rock Song and Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal consciousness successful ’21 Guns’. The group was here last December with his third visit Frontier Touring, a trip that was voted among the top five of the many best tours of 2009 lists.
Black-Eyed Peas, Green Day, and as they were in their third tour of the border, in October of last year, has received six nominations and picked up three Grammy Awards for Best Short Form Music Video, Best Pop Performance by a Duo Or Group with Vocal and Best Pop Vocal Album.
The Fray joined Black Eyed Peas to the impressive list of candidates for the last two categories, with MGMT Pop Performance category and Colbie Caillat on the nominations album. The Fray is on tour in Australia in March of last year and have worked with us in 2006 in a very popular tour.
MGMT former band Silversun Pickups on tour and also received a nomination for Best New Artist and Colbie Caillat has received two nominations for his collaboration with Taylor Swift “Breathe” and Jason Mraz on “Lucky.” Steve Earle, who has traveled twice with Frontier Touring in 2008 and 1990, won the Grammy for Best Contemporary Folk Album in recognition of his album “Townes.
Diana Krall and Madeleine Peyroux song of the sirens and Melody Gardot colleagues had all the production of his albums praised. Krall Quiet Nights “won Best Instrumental Arrangement. Peyroux and producer Larry Klein Gardot was named Producer of the Year, Non-Classical Melody Gardot and My One and Only Thrill was nominated for Best Engineered Recording, Non-Classical appears three is the magic number, as with Diana on his third visit to Touring the border. The talented trio will play a series of internal events, with Green Day for their services this month.
Frontier Touring are certainly proud to have had the opportunity to work with many brilliant artists, including those not listed in the ceremony this year and the future, and congratulate the winners and nominated for a Grammy in 2010, one again, the their realization.
