Since he announced his departure from “American Idol” Paula Abdul has been in great demand.

“At this point, there are so many wonderful things that are being offered to me,” said Abdul. “I have to take a deep breath, get some sleep … and go through everything.”

Abdul called The Associated Press on Thursday night during a break in the recording of their appearance in the life of the “drop dead Diva.” Earlier this week, announced it was leaving “American Idol” after eight seasons as a judge on the popular Fox singing show.

In his telephone interview with the AP, Abdul did not discuss details about his “Idol” and not say if the door to negotiations remains open or what it would take to get to their return to the fair.

Fox Entertainment President Peter Rice was asked Thursday what the network would do if Abdul tried to reopen negotiations. Rice responded: “I have no hope that Paula is going to do that. And in terms of the actual negotiations, the negotiations have concluded.”

When asked following a meeting of the Television Critics Association in Pasadena, California, which Fox would be the reaction if Abdul agreed to take the last offer from the network, Rice replied that he did not expect.

The offer is for a multi-year, eight-figure deal which represents an increase of 30 percent of Abdul, according to a person familiar with the talks. The person who was not authorized to speak publicly, asked not to be identified.

“My understanding is that his only problem is money,” Rice said.

“It is something that is very sad for us,” he said on the release of Abdul.

Among the possibilities for Abdul after “Idol” career “So You Think You Can Dance.” Nigel Lythgoe, former “American Idol” and producer and executive producer of Fox with the judge in the dance competition, has expressed interest in Abdul on the show.

“I will not rule that out,” he said. “I am a dancer, choreographer. The dance is a love of mine. But I have yet to sit down and discuss anything with anyone. It’s all happening in the next couple of weeks.”

Meanwhile, Abdul raved about working on “drop dead Diva.” She plays a “real judge” in life dramedy starring Brooke Elliott as a lawyer more than size. As was his role in “Idol,” Abdul provides the incentive – this time, the alter ego Elliott, Jane, instead of aspiring pop stars.

“I’m good at it,” said Abdul. “I think that I have been good since I was a kid. Rooting Only people and trying to make people remember to believe in themselves.”

On Thursday, she was on set in Peachtree City, Georgia The episodes air in September 13 and October 11.

Will this be a recurring role?

“I hope you know, this is exactly what about life – working with people who absolutely love working with,” he said.

Abdul with past pop stars acting as guest judges on “Idol” for the seven weeks of the audition process that begins Friday in Denver. Victoria Beckham and Katy Perry, the first was announced by Fox

Original judges Simon Cowell and Randy Jackson returning for the ninth season, which begins next January, and will be joined by a second year by Kara DioGuardi.

“It’s crazy right now. … It was a lovely experience and what is the most charming and sincere that it makes my heart swell the outpouring of love that people showed toward me,” said Abdul. “It’s overwhelming, and it is beautiful.

“I have to say, I’m never going to change who I am in the middle. I am a hard worker, I love working hard and nothing gives me more joy to be in a project and work with people who are trying to achieve the same goal. And that’s where I’m at now. “
