TV veteran David Frost received an honorary International Emmy award Monday, the annual television produced outside the United States, with five scholarships ranging from England and Brazil won its first Emmy.
Frost was awarded the Founders Award from fellow journalist Barbara Walters, who has been hailed as “the best interviewer around. It makes it look so easy.”
Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair appeared on the videotape rental Frost, who has interviewed numerous world leaders and important figures, their vision of “significant” and “unique”.
As in past years, programming has dominated the UK’s 37 annual awards, with Julie Walters and Ben Whishaw have the honor to serve.
Walters won for his role as Dr. Anne Turner in the history of the real life of assisted suicide “A short stay in Switzerland, while Whishaw, was named best actor for” BBC series criminal justice. Both worked in other places and can not accept in person.
Best art of programming has gone to “The Mona Lisa Curse,” which explores the world of contemporary art, while “Trash Baby” won for children and youth programs.
The prizes were distributed more evenly this year, with Denmark, Japan, Germany, Netherlands and Brazil, all the winners.
“Japan Shinichi Hoshi Short Shorts,” based on the stories of the eccentric writer, was named best comedy, while the “protection Danish Broadcasting Corporation” on the intelligence services of Denmark, won the best drama series.
The best TV movie or miniseries went to Germany, “Los Lobos de Berlin” on the post-war youth gangs, and the Dutch series “The Telephone” in which participants respond to a public call to undertake research to win prizes , won the Best non-script or programming reality.
Brazil has won the best soap opera, her first Emmy, the novel “La France – A Love Story,” a woman with an “untouchable”.
“The Ascent of Money,” a British production about the links between historical events and global finance, won the documentary.
The award was presented to the Directorate Markus Schaechter, director general of ZDF, the former U. S. Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, for his leadership in the German channel.
